Strong relationships begin when we choose to spend meaningful time together.
Participation means being present, trying new experiences, and actively engaging with one another. It creates opportunities for parents and youth to learn together, support each other, and strengthen their connection.
At Colorado Youth Outdoors, Participate is the first principle of our PACD teaching model. It encourages families to step away from everyday distractions and invest intentional time in their relationships.
CYO emphasizes four principles of participation:
- Try new experiences
- Work as a team
- Be together
- Share your experiences
Through participation, families create shared memories, develop mutual understanding, and build a foundation for appreciation, communication, and dedication.
